BizKidz Hub: Celebrating Young Entrepreneurs in Our Homeschool Community

On Wednesday, 1 July 2026, the Australian Homeschool Hub proudly hosted our latest BizKidz event, a wonderful day filled with creativity, confidence and inspiring young entrepreneurs.

We were thrilled with the fantastic turnout and loved seeing so many families come together to support the children. The room was buzzing with excitement as our BizKidz shared their products, explained their ideas and showed just how much young people can achieve when they are given the opportunity to dream big.

What is BizKidz Hub?

BizKidz is an Australian Homeschool Hub initiative created to encourage children and young people to explore entrepreneurship in a fun, supportive and age-appropriate way.

Participants develop a business idea, create a product or service, consider their branding and pricing, and practise explaining their idea to others. On the day of the event, they have the opportunity to showcase their business, speak with members of the community and build confidence through real-world experience.

BizKidz is about much more than selling a product. Through the process, children can develop valuable skills in:

Creativity and problem-solving
Communication and public speaking
Budgeting, pricing and money management
Branding and presentation
Planning and organisation
Resilience and confidence

Most importantly, BizKidz gives children a safe and encouraging environment in which their ideas are listened to, celebrated and taken seriously.

A Wonderful Day for Our Community

Our July event had a fantastic atmosphere, with families visiting the different businesses, asking questions and learning about the stories behind each idea.

We were incredibly proud of every child who participated. Standing beside something you have created and speaking to new people takes courage. Whether a child made their first sale, answered a customer’s question or simply found the confidence to introduce their business, every participant achieved something worth celebrating.

The creativity and effort displayed by the children were outstanding. Each business reflected the interests, personalities and talents of the young person behind it.

Celebrating Our BizKidz Winners

While every participant did an amazing job, two young entrepreneurs were selected to receive an investment from the Australian Homeschool Hub to help them continue developing their businesses.

Hendrix - Tiny Notes

Tiny Notes began with a simple act of love.

When Hendrix attended school, his mum, Kim, would place little encouraging notes inside his lunchbox. These messages reminded him that he was loved, brought a smile to his face and helped brighten his day.

After seeing the difference those small messages made, Hendrix and his family were inspired to create Tiny Notes—ready-written sticky notes containing kind, encouraging messages that parents can use to surprise and support their children.

Tiny Notes are not only for lunchboxes. They can be hidden inside a book, placed in a sports bag, added to a child’s schoolwork or left somewhere unexpected around the house.

The heart behind this business truly impressed us. Tiny Notes shows that a simple idea, inspired by kindness, can have a meaningful impact on other families.

Maryam - Balloons by MK

Maryam impressed us with Balloons by MK, her creative balloon business.

Her presentation demonstrated imagination, enthusiasm and a clear passion for creating something special for celebrations. Maryam showed that she had thought carefully about her business and how her balloon creations could help make important occasions feel even more memorable.

We are excited to see how Balloons by MK continues to grow and develop with the support of the BizKidz investment.

Why BizKidz Matters

Children have incredible ideas, but they do not always have opportunities to bring those ideas to life.

BizKidz gives young people the chance to try something new without the fear of needing to be perfect. They learn by creating, testing, speaking, listening and improving. They also see other children pursuing their ideas, which helps build a community where creativity and initiative are encouraged.

For homeschooled children, an event like BizKidz can connect learning across many different areas. Mathematics becomes part of calculating costs and change. English is used to write signs and speak with customers. Art and design are involved in creating branding and displays. Social skills grow through conversations with members of the community.

It is meaningful, hands-on learning that children can connect to the real world.

We would like to congratulate every young entrepreneur who participated in the event. Your courage, hard work and creativity made the day such a success.

We would also like to thank the families, volunteers and community members who attended, encouraged the children and supported their businesses. Events like this are possible because of the wonderful community surrounding the Australian Homeschool Hub.

We cannot wait to see where these young entrepreneurs take their ideas next—and we look forward to welcoming even more children to future BizKidz events.
